Glencoe, First Light

There’s a particular madness to landscape photography that has you setting an alarm for 4am while parked in a layby, the rain hammering the roof, on the strength of a forecast that said the cloud might break at dawn. It did, just about. For twenty minutes the whole glen went the colour of warm honey, the Three Sisters caught the first light, and the midges and I had the place entirely to ourselves.

Worth every wet boot.
